Performance Summary |
The Brazoswood High School Buccaneer Band performed at the halftime of the Dickinson football homecoming game at Hopper Field in Freeport, TX., on Friday, October 16, 2009. It was the seventh football game and fourth home game of the 2009 season. The game was highlighted by the first ever Alumni Band, which joined the current Buc Band on the field for a special pre-game massed band, with guest conductor Fred McDonald, who was the first band director at Brazoswood. In their halftime show, the Buc Band continued to show improvement in both marching and playing as they gave possibly their best performance of the season. This was an important tune-up before entering into a stretch of three marching contests over eight days. The band prepares to compete at the Lone Star Preview at the Woodlands on Saturday, October 17. This will be followed by the annual U.I.L. Region marching contest on Tuesday, October 20, and the pinnacle competition of the year, the Bands of America Super Regional at the Alamodome in San Antonio on Saturday, October 24.
In the football game, the Buc football team outlasted a good Dickinson squad, could not overcome three early fumbles and lost to Clear Creek, 16-13. |
