Itinerary

November 4
Wednesday

Bring a sack lunch.
Students will wear their black socks/shorts and shoes as they get ON the buses and carry their hats ON  the bus and put them in the overhead compartment of the bus.  Chaperons standing at the door of the bus will check that all these items are getting on the bus before we leave.  There is no reason to bring your uniform hang up bag.

 7:30 a.m.

The Mighty Buc Band congregates on Cannon Field to prepare to load 6 speedy Lamborghini Buses heading for San Antonio.  The company in charge of our adventure is:

 7:50 p.m.

We’re on our way!  Movies are rolling as we angle back our cushioned seats!

12:00 noon

We arrive at the dome and go inside to use the rest room (last chance for over a long while).  We inspect the stadium.  Everyone checks out the markings on the field and imagine our incredible performance.

 1:10 p.m.

The band members leave the dome and proceed to the Penske uniform truck (Parking Lot B) to suit out for prelims.  We then proceed to the buses and get our horns out from below.  Props and pit equipment will be loaded on the 18 wheeler over at Parking Lot “A” which is the lot at the end of the tunnel.

 2:00 p.m.

Everyone is stationed by our warm-up area “C” (for Clute!) and focusing on having a great warm-up.

 2:20 p.m.

Warm-up.  The band is totally focused.  Fans watch from a distance, amazed at how focused BWood can be.  College music majors are asked to write a 12 page report on our procedures.  Scientists are there to measure the amazing levels of “focosity” the band members posess.

 3:05 p.m.

Warm up is over.  We vibe our way to the starting gate.

 3:20 p.m.

We are stationed at the ramp and say hello to our former band director and field host, Bernard Rosenberg.

 3:30 p.m.

Performance. We take the field, strut our stuff, and climax three months of preparation.  The Alamo Dome becomes BWood’s House. The band from Brazoswood is so smoking that they singe the competition.   Bands from around the state quickly realize why so many consider Brazoswood the hippest and the coolest!  We can’t be stopped!

 3:45 p.m.

We leave the field surrounded by thunderous applause and repeated standing ovations.  The crowd begins to chant BWood!...BWood!...Bwood!  The chanting continues, but for the first time at a state competition, the fans begin to shout Encore!...Encore!...Encore!  They beg to see it again!!!  The UIL announcer assures the fans they can come back at Finals and see the show once more.  A mass exodus occurs as fans rush to buy Finals tickets.  The stadium sells out in 10 minutes.

 3:50 p.m.

The Buc Band treks to the buses to put up their horns (Parking Lot B). Everyone then travels to the uniform truck to hang up their bibbers and coats on the same hanger on their assigned uniform rack.  We reenter the stadium as spectators dressed in black shorts and band pirate t-shirt while fans rush to seek our autographs.  Security guards quickly rush us to a back entrance and the Bucs find an area to be seated together

 5:00 p.m.

Results are announced.  Was there ever any doubt?

 5:20 p.m.

The Buc Band gathers back at the buses in Parking Lot B.  We grab our last Bar-B-Que on a bun for the season.  The parents hear over 300 thank you’s for providing such scrumptious food.  All students show absolute class in disposing of trash.

 7:30 p.m.

Finals start

10:00 p.m.

Final results.

10:30 p.m.

Celebrating time!

11:00 p.m.

Back on the buses to head back to our 5 star hotel.

11:25 p.m.

We pull in to our home away from home, Days Inn East San Antonio, where a light is left on for the Buc Band.  Everyone is very quiet as to not to disturb other guests.  Ms. Walden hands the keys out to all goddesses and Mr. Casey hands the keys out to all the dudes.  One representative from each room gets the key.  On arrival, the band members will take only 20 minutes to get ice and drinks and then everyone must be in their room!
