In alternating years, the non-State Marching Contest years for the 5A
schools, the T.M.E.A. (Texas Music Educators Assoc.) conducts Honor Band
auditions via CD's recorded at contests or concerts. Progressive
levels of competition consist of Region, Area, and State. The top
two bands from the Region audition advance to the Area audition, which
will involve the top two bands which comprise each of the 3 regions
defined as Area F. Likewise, the top two bands from the Area F
audition advance to the State level competition. Final judging
among the State level 14 bands occurs as a part of the
Texas Bandmasters Association convention in San Antonio
in late July. |
