BUC BAND BOOSTER CLUB
MEETING MINUTES
OCTOBER 13, 2009

Welcome – Jeff Gilbert opened meeting at 7:30pm

Band Director Reports

  • Mr. Koch – Thanked everyone for a wonderful year so far and is very proud of the kids.  Thanked Jeff Gilbert for transportation issues.
  • Mr. Casey – not present
  • Ms. Walden – not present (report given by Jeff Gilbert) – Alumni Band will sit with the band on Homecoming night.  Alumni band is to meet at Hopper field by the busses.  The Alumni band will not need a ticket to get into game but family members will need to purchase one.

Secretary Minutes – Carolyn Alvarado

  • A motion was made by Jeff Gilbert to approve the September 2009 Booster Meeting Minutes.  The motion was seconded by Gemi Powell and the minutes were unanimously approved by meeting attendees.

 

Treasurer Report – Daryl Dauer

  • Daryl reported $$97,072.40 in the account.  A motion was made by Carolyn Alvarado to approve the treasurer report.  The motion was seconded by David McKelroy and the treasurer report was unanimously approved by meeting attendees.

Board Committee Report

  • First Vice President – David McKelroy – Chaperoning for games have been very successful and have an average of 55 to 60 per game.  There are 4 games and 3 contests left.  Cindy McKelroy asked parents to send healthy snacks with their student.  If you student does not like Chopped Beef there is peanut butter and jelly sandwiches available.  Golf tournament was a very good turn out with 17 teams participating and great band parents helping out.
  • Second Vice President – Gemi Powell – no report
  • Food/Beverage Committee – Rita Depalatis – Thanked everyone for all their help during contest meal.  You don’t have to be a chaperone to help serve.
  • Capital Improvement/Props (Set Designs) – Shane Pirtle – Minor repairs have been made to The Pearl.
  • Public Relations/Merchandise – Bob Bowden – Flip flops $25 and Pj’s $30 is in and if you placed an order for these items they are ready to be picked up. 

Non-standing Committee Reports

  • Color Guard – Leah Hardesty – The color guard will be having their 2nd fundraiser for the year (Butter Bread).  If anyone would like to purchase Butter Bread please see one of the color guard girls.
  • Uniforms – Trixie Bone – Coats and pants will be back on Thursday from Frakey cleaners.  Pants will stay at the school for the next busy week.  Please remind your child to have their garment bag/hat on game and contest day.
  • Hospitality – Beth Dauer – The band hall will be decorated on Wednesday prior to BOA at 6pm so please bring scissors and hole punchers.  Masquerade Party will be on November 21st after the Festival of Lights and the theme this year is “Super Heroes”
  • Percussion Liaison – Kim Knapp – not present – The Percussion will be having a bake sale on October 31 at the Brazos Mall.  Drumline shirts will be available to purchase without kids name on the back of it. 

Old Business – Please vote on November 03, 2009 for Bond Election

New Business – senior night will be held on November 06, 2009 and t-shirt order forms are now available and please put your order form in Locker #301 by October 23rd.
