- This is a very busy week with a number of activities. Sunny reminded chaperones to watch their email – football game, competition and UIL competition next Tuesday – and respond as quickly as possible as to whether they are available to chaperone.
- Thanked all the chaperones for their continued participation and support.

- Spirit Support – Frances Socha
- Chick-Fil-A envelopes will be available tomorrow morning (Wednesday).
- Meals will be available for the UIL competition next Tuesday. Need to indicate on the envelope that it is for UIL, not the game this Friday.

- Frances stated that her objective is to try to do something different food wise each week for the kids.
- Reminded parents to have their kids begin to hydrate on Friday before the Saturday contests and that all students should bring water bottles to the games. We are very conscious about insuring that our students have plenty of water at games and competitions.

Old Business
- Truck Update/Report – Sam Henry
- Informed the Boosters that there was a clutch/transmission problem with the cab. Performance did the repair work for us and has personally inspected the truck each time that it has been brought in for work. Performance analyzed the issue as the truck having been driven improperly. Sam has discussed with BISD and subsequently, all drivers will go through re-training and re-evaluation of the proper way to drive the truck. Our hope is that this will resolve the problem.
- Inside of the truck is done and the load crew is doing a good job of loading and unloading the truck.
- Show Props Update/Report – Sam Henry
- Props are complete and were used at last Friday’s game for the first time.
- Sam related his thanks to the all the participating dad’s for all their help in building, assembly and disassembly of the props.
- Parent commented at how awesome the props looked and mentioned that other school parents were commenting about good they looked.
- Sam mentioned the incredible support of the community – both monetarily and verbally.
- Masquerade Party – Audrey Perez
- Copyright of Band Logo – Jeff Gilbert
- Have prepared a contract to buy the exclusive rights to the pirate logo from Mike Marshall for use by the band.
- Mike has been extremely cooperative and is even sending the band other drawings/derivatives of the logo for band use.
- School Board Presentation of Gator – Gerald Roznovsky
- Reported that last Tuesday the School Board presented Mr. Koch with a gator. The Board had previously received a letter from Mr. Koch requesting the gator. The School Board was very supportive of this and was able to purchase the gator at a good price from the local DER dealer. There is an agreement that the gator will be shared with the baseball team in the spring.
- Gerald reiterated that the School Board and Administration overall are very supportive of the band.
- Gerald also mentioned that there is still a real possibility of longer range support for a new Visual Arts wing for the school. Will keep the Booster Club appraised of future progress.
New Business
- Chili Supper – Debra Perry
- Has a printed report available summarizing details of last years Chili Supper.
- Volunteer sign-up sheets are available tonight as well. Debra especially needs volunteers to call local merchants to ask for donations.
- Reminded the attendees that Freshman parents are responsible for clean up each year.
- Have discussed the possibility of increasing the price of the tickets to $7.00 due to increased cost of all the supplies of items. This was supported by the Boosters.
- Debra asked that if anyone knows business owners that are willing to support the band – please ask them and then let Debra know.
- Debra asked for parents volunteers willing to be team leaders for different areas of responsibility associated with the Chili Supper. Leaders are needed for areas such as drinks, cooking, clean-up, serving lines, etc.
- Parent asked when the chili supper tickets will be available – Directors hope to have tickets available at the next meeting.
- Gerald reminded attendees that the Solo-Ensemble contest is the same day as Chili Supper.
- Silent Auction – Susan Campbell
- Susan indicated that while she has agreed to chair this event, she would like to have some “under-class” parent support for future leadership of this part of the Chili Supper event. She will provide training
- Funds raised from the silent auction go directly to the band fund and is historically used to purchase something from the Director’s wish list. Directors have not yet defined what they would like to obtain from the proceeds this year.
- Susan reported that we usually have from 50-80 items for the auction.
