Improvement/Props (Set Designs) – Shane Pirtle
o We need a little
more harp work; the longer bolts with wing nuts should be in today and
some time before Friday. Help is needed to put stops on the front of
the bases so that the harps will have a fixed position on the bases,
then bolt insertion will be easier. Some of the harps need some paint
touch up and we can do that at the same time. We also need to cut out a
little more space on some of the wheels that are rubbing hard, some need
additional washers. Need to replace the wheels on the small Drum Major
stand that goes on the opposite side.
o Many thanks to all
who have worked diligently to get harps built. I know there were other,
but these are the names I can recall: John Kuharski, Jeff Bone, Ron
Bradford, David Kirk, Vic Wade, Phil Athey, David McKelroy, Tom and Dawn
Winter, Daryl Dauer, Lonnie Rathburn, Rick Martinez, Michael Perez,
Chuck Cole, Mike Morris and very importantly – Linda Pirtle. And
special thanks to James Socha for getting the harps painted and John
Smircic with Mike’s Machine Works for donating the axles.
o Sherwin Williams
donated the paint
o McCoy’s gave us a
good discount
o Brazos Fasteners
donated the bolts
o Lake Hardware gave
us a good discount on the wheels.
o Used 15 of the
harps at last contest
o Volunteers are
also needed to help glitter harps and will be meeting this Thursday,
October 9 @ 5:30p in the band hall. We are in need of paint rollers so
please bring with you if you have any.
