Brazoswood Booster Club Meeting
Tuesday, September 8, 2009 7:30 p.m.
President Jeff Gilbert welcomed members.
He addressed the Fish Auction issue and invited those with questions to visit with him later.
Secretary Carolyn Alvarado’s notes were approved from last month’s meeting.
From Mr. Casey – “Rain” props need to be moved out of Mrs. Budwine’s barn. Trucks will be available on Friday about noon.
Show shirts will be ordered Tuesday, September 15th. Please prepay, $15.
Treasurer Daryl Dauer presented the bank accounts and explained disbursements and activities. Don White motioned to accept and David McKelroy seconded the reports. Approved.
1st VP David McKelroy thanked everyone for their chaperoning. We have had a good response of parents.
Heads up for Oct 10 - Out of town football game and a contest in Spring
Oct 16 - Homecoming dance after the game
Oct 17 – Woodlands contest, early arrival at school
2nd VP Gemi Powell announced several fundraisers.
Dodge Home Team – needs volunteer to run this ongoing project.
Joe’s BBQ – Raffle of brisket at home games. Band will sell two meat products
Nov. 2 – 13 and Jan 18 – 29.

Food Service Expert Rita Depalatis thanked those who have helped with Game Day food in the main cafeteria. She is talking with DJ’s about contest meals. If you would like to help with the Food Committee contact Rita via email.
Band Aids are working hard to keep your students hydrated and marching. They could use a few substitutes.
Capital Improvements Director Shane Pirtle was in touch with Miken about the backfield scaffolding. At this time, we know Miken has donated the labor and materials for this project. Please tell this company “THANK YOU!”
Ice machine worked today! This discussion is still in progress.
Merchandising Guru Bob Bowden had his own style show, again! Since the new show shirt was not available, Bob modeled shirts from the last 4 years.
Sling backpacks, VISORS, and other merchandise is available. Look on the website for order forms and online opportunities, Buc Band Gear Order Form.
Show shirts must be prepaid, $15, and in locker 301 by Tuesday, September 15th.
Color Guard Rep Leah Hardesty gave a description of the swan fans/props the girls will
be assembling Sat., Sept 12th & 19th. We will need a wasy to transport and store these.
The last installment of guard fees is due this month to Ms. Walden.
Uniform Expert Trixie Bone talked about hems, hems, and hems. Please check you student’s garment bag for an instruction letter regarding how to hem band pants,
“So Now I Have my Uniform!”
She asked for parents to help with hanging up coats after the games.

Hospitality Planner Beth Dauer needs help with Masquerade Party decorating, please sign-up to help. Party is after the Festival of Lights Parade, Saturday, Nov. 21st.
Percusion Liason Kim Knapp discussed plans for the Indianapolis trip, $500 – 550 per student.

Jeff closed the meeting with a discussion of the upcoming Bond Issue.
