BUC BAND BOOSTER CLUB
MEETING MINUTES
January 12, 2010

Welcome – Jeff Gilbert opened meeting at 7:30pm

Mr. Snell introduced Mr. Casey as the new Band Director, Martin Montoya as Assistant Band Director and Allen Trong as Assistant Color Guard
Jeff Gilbert – We will be gathering donations or gift cards for Martin Montoya to help his transition of moving to a new town.  Please put on donations or gift cards in locker #301.

Band Directors Reports

  • Mr. Casey – January has been a busy month so far but has had plenty of help.  Thanks to everyone for their support.  Spring trip cost will be an estimate of $375.00.  We will leave on Thursday, April 22 to San Antonio, Friday, April 23 will perform at UT of San Antonio then head to Fiesta TX, Saturday, April 24 will have brunch at Tower of America and head to Sea World and Sunday, April 25 will head home and stop at Schlitterbahn Water Park for the day.  Fundraiser sheet has been updated with correct amounts in your students account.

Secretary Minutes – Carolyn Alvarado

  •  Minutes will be posted on website

Treasurer Report – Daryl Dauer

  • Daryl reported $66,075.07 in the account.  A motion was made by David McKelroy to approve the treasurer report.  The motion was seconded by Rita Depalatis and the treasurer report was unanimously approved by meeting attendees.

Board Committee Report

  • First Vice President – David McKelroy/Cindy McKelroy – Twelve to fourteen chaperones will be invited to chaperon the Spring Trip in April.
  • Second Vice President – Gemi Powell – Silent auctions are still needed and can be dropped off at the school, my home or my office.  A tax receipt can be given for a tax write off.  February schedule for Toyota Center will be emailed later this month.  Joe’s Barbeque fundraiser will be done in the spring.
  • Food/Beverage Committee – Rita Depalatis – No report
  • Capital Improvement/Props (Set Designs) – Shane Pirtle – Some minor’s repairs need to be done in the Band Hall and will set-up a work day.
  • Public Relations/Merchandise – Bob Bowden – Not present

Non-standing Committee Reports

  • Color Guard – Leah Hardesty – not present
  • Uniform – Trixie Bone – Blue marching coat and hat need to be turned in before finals.  Please pay any outstanding fees (gloves, socks, etc...)
  • Hospitality – Beth Dauer – Spring Banquet will be on May 14, 2010 at the Civic Center.  The banquet is only for your student.  Recognition Day for Jim Koch will be at the Civic Center on June 6, 2010.  For this event we will need donations and volunteers and please remember this is a surprise.  Any donations can be put in Locker #301. 
  • Percussion Liaison – Kim Knapp – no report
  • Chili Supper – Kelly Rathburn – Need cash donations, team leaders, and volunteers.

Old Business – none
New Business – Officer Elections April 2010 and Chair of elections committee are Carolyn Alvarado, Kim Knapp, and Debbie Rose.  The following positions are as follow:
