Buc Band Booster Club Meeting Minutes
January 9, 2007
Meeting Minutes:
Welcome – Susan Campbell –
opened meeting at 7:30 p.m.
Band Director Reports
Mr. Koch –
·
Reminded parents that region band will be held on Friday
at Pearland 3:30 – 7:30. Students will stay overnight at the Houston
Hobby Marriott, practice on Saturday and concert at 7:00 pm at Pearland
9th grade center Directions on the itinerary and on the
website. Students will get $18 from the school district towards meal
·
Goddard piece – written by Fred Allen from SFA has been
completed. Band will perform this piece on Monday, Feb. 5 at 7 p.m. at
the Clarion in conjunction with a concert by SFA.
·
Need volunteers to host the students from SFA – details on
the website, email if you are interested in hosting students please
contact Susan Campbell
·
UIL Solo/Ensemble contest on Friday, Feb. 2 from 4 – 9 and
Saturday, Feb 3 from 8 – 5
·
Plan to go to New Orleans for the Spring Trip
Mr. Casey
·
Chili supper tickets were distributed today during band –
10 tickets per student
·
Extra tickets can be obtained from Mr. Casey
·
January 20 – concert at the Clarion with John Pizzarelli
·

Secretary Minutes

Robin Wise moved to approve the November minutes,
seconded by Beth Dauer and approved by the attendees
Treasurer Report
– Robin Wise

Directed attendees attention to the balance and report on
the back of the agenda
·
There were no questions from the membership
Committee Reports
First Vice President
– Sunny and Sam Henry
·
Several additional individuals are being trained to drive
the truck
·
Currently selling advertisements for the side of the truck
– this will be for a 2 yr. period beginning next school year, size is
6.5 x 14”, monies collected will go towards furnishing the inside of the
truck
Second Vice President
– Keith Wise
·
Raffle – net profit about $600
·
Informed attendees of a cell phone fundraiser – collection
of obsolete/old cell phones. Booster club members will get additional
information by email on this fundraiser.
Spirit Support –
Sherri Archer
·
Told the Boosters of shelves Kelby Koch has built as part
of his Eagle project to store coolers and band supplies
Hospitality –
Frances Socha
·
Thanked everyone for their help at the Masquerade party
·
Next month there will be sign ups for the band banquet
Public Relations –
Doug Wright

Old Business
Chili Supper –
·
Debra Perry has volunteered to take over coordination this
event
·
Debra expressed appreciation for everyone that has signed
up to help
·
Talked about how she is currently soliciting donations
from local businesses
·
Asked for help in picking up donated items and if there
are people that want to help with donations of specific items associated
with the Chili supper
·
Has a list of items that are still needed – email will be
sent out with details
Silent Auction
·
Collecting items from businesses or individuals who would
like to make donations
·
Audio Visual items will be purchased with the proceeds
from the Silent Auction
·
Usually nets about $4000 – 5000 in profit
UIL – Solo/Ensemble
·
Kaelyn Koch has volunteered to coordinate planning and
details associated with hosting this event.
·
First meeting this Thursday of a volunteer committee
·
Need volunteers to work during Friday and Saturday during
the event

SFA Band Visit
·
Discussed by Mr. Koch
Booster Club Officer
Elections
·
Booster Club Officer Election Committee chair was
appointed per Booster Club by-laws. Maridel Martinez has volunteered to
head the committee. Needs 3 people to volunteer to work on the
committee. Those interested can contact her at
maridelmartinez2003@yahoo.com . (Sherri Archer volunteered to serve
on the committee.)
Question/Answer Time

Mr. Koch thanked the Booster Club for their support during
marching season and the State Competition
·
Patty Rosnovsky – asked if there was a contact number for
purchasing State Marching patches. Mr. Koch will try to provide.
·
Picture CD’s – will have a sign up to purchase at Chili
Supper. $10 charge for a CD.
