Parent E-mails

Dear Band Senior Parents,

Our last football game (regular season anyway) is just days away.  Isn’t it amazing how fast these four years have flown by.  Friday is also the night our seniors are recognized along with their parents.  What a wonderful bittersweet evening it will be. 

To make this night a success, the directors have asked that the parents be at the field by the time the band arrives at 6:00 pm.  Please be on the track waiting for the arrival of the band.  Parents will line up on the football field sidelines with their senior in alphabetical order beginning at the 20 yard line in front of the band (A’s will be in front of the band).  With the size of our senior band class, we will probably go all the way to the opposite 20 yard line.  Please try to position yourself close to your alphabetical location to make it easier for final positioning.  I’ll be coming down the line with the senior list getting the order finalized.

Announcement of seniors begins at 6:25, so we need to make this process go as quickly as possible.

Cheerleaders and Belles are recognized Friday night also so we will have to respect their places on the field.  The cheerleaders will be lining up on the track in front of the stands at the far end from the band.  Belles will be lining up behind the cheerleaders on the turf.  And finally the awesome Buc Band Seniors will line up along the sidelines behind the Belles.  Also, football players will be warming up so watch out for flying footballs and players…

Senior’s Parent Night

Band Seniors along with the parents/guardians will be introduced prior to the start of the football game at Hopper Field this Friday, November 9.  We will have a photographer available to take photos of the Seniors with their parents/guardians prior to the introductions.

Parents/guardians need to arrive at Hopper Field and be at the end of the home stands nearest to the scoreboard at 6:00 PM.  As the Band marches to the stands the parents will line the outside of the track and cheer for the Band.

We will begin taking photos with each student along with their parents/guardians as soon as possible after the rest of the Band is in the stands.  Photos will not be taken in any particular order.  Just grab your child and head for the photographer.  Photo files will be made available for download within a couple days.

We will have a very limited time prior to the start of the football game to get photos taken and complete the introductions.  If you want a photo taken by the photographer you will be responsible for getting over to the photographer.

Dear Senior Parents,

It is a tradition with the Buc Band to honor our "graduating" parents at the last home game of the regular season. Parents will be recognized on the field with their senior. This year November 9 will officially be Buc Band Senior Parent Night.

Traditionally, parents wear t-shirts with their student’s pictures on front and/or back. Usually a baby picture is on the front and a "grown up" picture on the back. This is optional, but what a great opportunity to pull out those blackmail photos.

Brenda at Click Draw has made parents shirts in past years and will be available to take orders this year through October 27th to have shirts ready 1 week prior to senior night. To reach Brenda, you may call her at 239-2022 or email clickdraw@hughes.net. She will need a 5X7 or 8X10 of each picture to be screen printed. Bring photos in a Ziploc bag with your name on it. The t-shirts are white, 100% cotton regular tee's.

Prices: S-XL - $18. Larger sizes up to 5X are available. Add one dollar per X for larger sizes.

If you choose to provide your own shirt the price will be $15 for 2 photos. The shirts must be 100% cotton and white or off white. She cannot take responsibility for shirts messed up during printing.

2006-2007 Band Photo CD update...

The band photo CD will be available for pickup at the October booster club meeting. If you preordered, you'll simply need to pick yours up before or after the meeting. If you didn't order one last year, we will be making a few extras that will be available to purchase while supplies last. The cost is still $15 per 2-CD set. CD's not picked up at the booster club will be left at the band hall for the directors to distribute to the students.

We do apologize for the delay in delivery, but we've had some obstacles beyond our control. If you have any questions, please contact Linda Long directly at 388-9356.

We will have our Chaperone Meeting in the Small Band Hall on Tuesday the 28th at 6:00 pm, during the Tuesday evening band practice.  Please plan to attend if you plan to chaperone the band this year.  Afterward we will have a Q&A session.

There will be adults at the LJ  Outdoor Pool starting at 7:30 this evening.  This will allow parents to drop the students off and make it back across town to attend the Booster Club Meeting.

Buc Band Golf Tournament

I need help with collecting sponsorships and door prizes. If we do not have any one willing to help, I will need to cancel the tournament. I need to know by Friday August 10^th. The funds from the tournament will be used to help cut the cost of the trip to Florida. This is one way to raise money without selling anything. We do have people willing to help the day of the tournament and I appreciate that.

Booster Club Golf Tournament 2007

Brazoswood Band Booster Club will be having a golf tournament at Jackson Oaks Country Club on Tuesday September 18, 2007. Proceeds from this fundraiser will be used to help pay for the cost of the transportation to Florida.

The tournament will start at 8:30 am and registration will start at 7:30 am. We will need six to eight people from 7:30 am - 9:30 am to help with setting up and registering players. After the tournament is started I will only need one or two people until noon at which time I will need six to eight people to help with awarding prizes, lunch and closing the tournament.

Before the tournament I need help collecting prizes, making signs and contacting potential sponsors. If you would be interested in helping please contact me at krwise@sbcglobal.net or 979-418-1518 or 979-238-5439.  

If you contact an individual or company about making a contribution please let me know so that we do not have more than one person contact them.

The Buccaneer Booster Club is in need of several welders to help fabricate some of the props for this year’s show.   If you’re a welder or welding is your hobby, we need your help.  Please contact Sam Henry at shenry6@houston.rr.com if you can help.  Band season is fast approaching, so we need to start this project ASAP.

Booster Club Golf Tournament

Brazoswood Band Booster Club will be having a golf tournament at Jackson Oaks Country Club on Tuesday September 18, 2007. Proceeds from this fundraiser will be used to help offset the cost of the spring trip to Florida.

 There will be a meeting at the band hall on July 31, 2007 at 7: 00 PM. Things that we will need people to be in charge of are listed below.

Summer is quickly coming to an end for the Mighty Buc Band. I am looking for great people who are willing to come to the band hall and be our "Band Aids" during the marching sessions. It is a very easy job. You can commit for however many days you would like to commit. It is a great way to get to know the students.  I am also looking for parents to assist me in putting out the water for our students before marching practice and also bringing it in near the end of practice.
